When we are kids, we all have the fear that some monster is hiding in our closets or just under our bed. When that irrational fear strikes us, we often don’t respond in the most “distinguished” ways. For one woman, the monster in her closet turned into a problem she needed to solve.
While looking around in her closet one day, this woman discovers she hasn’t been living alone.
Digging around in our closets is often a fun experience where we find a lot of things we previously thought we lost. For this woman, what she found was enough to cause her to scream! While looking inside an old trash bag, she found a fully grown possum, right in her home!
With a ghostly white face and long teeth, this was one scary sight.
For anyone who has never seen a possum up close, they are quite scary! They have pale white faces that look like something out of a scary movie and long teeth to match. While they normally do their best to stay away from humans, they aren’t animals that you want to run into.
When this woman found the possum, she needed to find a way to get it out ASAP!
Nobody wants a possum in their home for any longer than necessary. Once she got over her initial jump scare, she got to work trying to remove it. Getting a bit closer with her camera, the possum suddenly let out a sharp “HISSSS,” scaring the mess out of anyone watching! When possums feel threatened, they will often hiss to try and scare off the offender.
Even though the possum was terrifying, the woman knew she had to try again.
With the occasional HISS and scary teeth still a reality, the woman got to work figuring out how to remove it. Donning thick gloves and a broom, she moved in like a pro, ready to work. After a few attempts, however, she soon realized that you DON’T poke a possum!
During her antics, she thought she saw something strange behind the bag the possum was in.
After a bit more watching, she saw that the possum wasn’t alone – it had a whole litter of babies! It wasn’t just one possum in her closet; it was a whole family. Now the stakes were even higher. Thankfully, she had a plan.
Using a basket, she encouraged the babies to crawl in and then take them outside.
After sone work, she as able to get some of the babies to her rabbit hutch. Once the woman took a few of the babies from the mama possum, the possum was immediately out and about, looking for her babies. All it took apparently was for the woman to move some of her babies.
Once the mama found her babies, they all hopped on her for a ride and were off and out!
Baby possums ride on their mother’s backs, and that’s how these eight babies rode off into the day! I bet this woman won’t be opening any closets too quickly from now on.
