Some birds love taking baths; we could often see them soaking themselves in watering holes to rehydrate. Owls are no exceptions, as they are one of the species of bird that always wants to keep their feathers clean.

Curbie the owl is one gorgeous pet owl. His beautiful patterned feathers and mesmerizing chestnut-colored eyes are enough to make anyone fall in love with him. Moreover, Curbie has a free-spirited yet tame personality that makes him perfect as a house pet. Most of the time, Curbie spends his day outside his cage, freely roaming around his owner’s house. He would never get bored as he has a lot of space to spread his wings.

Curbie became an instant celebrity after a clip of him circulated on the internet.

Curbie went viral after his owner submitted a clip of him on Poke My Heart. The video clip was taken one day when Curbie the owl was yearning for a drink. Thirsty, the big bird immediately flapped his wings towards his owner who usually keeps his drinking bottle around. Instead of getting a water bowl for the bird, both Curbie and his owner loves the interaction they have every time he asks for a drink.

It may be the most adorable sight ever as Curbie’s owner pulls out his spray bottle and directs the nozzle in front of Curbie. The owl then gnaws on the nozzle while his owner squirts the water in his mouth.

Curbie’s drinking time instantly turned into a bath time.

While enjoying his drink, Curbie suddenly feels the urge to take a refreshing bath. He kept hinting at his owner to squirt the bottle on his feathers by turning his head away from the nozzle.

Finally, the owner received the message and began spraying water starting from his chest part. As Curbie felt the cool water dripping on his fluffy feathers, he began to span his wings in front of his owner, expecting to spray him some more.

Curbie enjoyed his adorable bird bath and so did the people on the internet.

Curbie purposely expanded his feathers to open up more areas for the water to get in while holding his wings up. He then turns his body to the nozzle so that every part of him will be soaked with water. He even bows so that his mom could also spray the top of his head. After his mom finished bathing him all over, Curbie perched on top of his owner’s laptop to dry his dripping wet feathers.

Hopefully, Curbie’s owner did not have to replace her laptop after that. The clip has been viewed over 36 million times on Facebook, and a copy of a clip was also uploaded on Poke My Heart’s YouTube channel.

Owls as house pets.

Owls make good house pets. However, there are plenty of things to think about before getting one. Unlike other common bird pets; like parrots and cockatoos, owls are high-maintenance creatures. They need an awful lot of space at home, and they won’t be satisfied with only bird seeds. Furthermore, keeping owls as pets is illegal in some countries and it could get you in trouble.
