While it’s not a bear’s natural habitat, a wildlife center is a far better place to live than in an area where they could be exposed to danger. Often, these organizations take in injured or abandoned animals that couldn’t make it on their own.

A great organization

The Orphaned Wildlife Center is a fantastic not-for-profit organization located in Otisville, NY. Although it was just founded five years ago, the owners, as well as volunteers, have been able to help all kinds of creatures.

Their mission

This organization saves orphaned, injured, and neglected wildlife. And whenever possible, it rehabilitates and returns animals to the wild. For those that can’t be released, the Orphaned Wildlife Center ensures they have a safe and loving environment where they can live forever.

Helping bears

Bears are among the different animals this organization helps. Currently, 11 of varying species call this sanctuary home. The three founding members, Susan and Jim Kowalczik along with Kerry Clair, have incredible bonds with the bears. At the sanctuary, these animals have an indoor area, as well as a large outdoor enclosure, complete with trees and ponds.

Meet Amy

One of their residents is a gorgeous bear named Amy. Just looking at her, it’s easy to tell she’s healthy and content. Although she has access to the outdoors, sometimes, she prefers to stay in her enclosure where she has a tire swing.

A relaxing day

Amy looks so comfortable that the owners decided to capture of video of her curled up inside the swing. With it moving slowly back and forth, it’s an excellent place to take a nap. Feeling a little cramped, she stretches out her legs.

I see you

Since Amy trusts the founders of this wildlife sanctuary, they can get up close to her without any problem. And while taking the video, that’s what they did. In response, Amy turns her head to look straight into the camera. She’s stunning.

More R&R

That doesn’t last long because this bear wants to relax a bit more. So, she gets back into a position she likes. But as she gives a sideways glance, you can almost hear her say, “I need some privacy here, please.”

Sorry, no

Nope, they want to keep filming. So, Amy settles in, this time pushing both of her feet against the tire swing. If you look at her eyes, you can see at this point she’s getting quite sleepy. Hey, the gentle rocking of the swing would to that to anyone.

Too cute for words

As Amy continues to swing, it’s as though her entire body starts to relax. Now, you can see her slightly bulging belly. Everyone knows that bears can be extremely dangerous but this one has nothing on her mind other than to enjoy a little down time.
