Kids don’t need anything besides fun things to do. For the most part, all their basic needs are met. Without any major responsibilities, they have more time than they know what to do with.

Powered by imagination, just about anything can be turned into a toy.

Trying to get some attention

As it turns out, the animal kingdom isn’t that much different. Take this viral video shared by Save The Orangutan, for example.

It’s no more than two minutes long but has more than 3 million views and thousands of likes and comments. In the video, we see two orangutans just being themselves. One, oddly, is in a sac and almost looks like he is dressed up as a ghost.

Nope, I don’t see you there

The other is indifferent to the “ghost” and finds himself a small log to sit on. The one on the log just wants to chill and relax, but the “ghost” won’t let it. Out of nowhere, the one in a sac playfully pushes the one on the log while still hidden inside the sac.

Immediately after pushing his friend, he grabs him by the shoulder and drags him off the log and into the ground. Looks like we know who the trouble maker of the group is.

The orangutan that just got pulled of the log quickly gets up, sits back on the log, and stares at the “ghost.” You can tell he is puzzled by what just happened. He almost wants to ask, “What are you doing?” He’s patient but yet again his friend with the sac over his head is persistent. He wants attention and he wants it now.

Try, try again

The one in the sac attempts to drag his friend off the log again but fails. Every time he fails, he just tries again. Frustrated by the interrupted calm, the one on the log charges into his friend and tries to take the cloth off from his friend’s head. The sac is held in place too tightly and so he throws his hands in defeat and walks back to his peaceful log and lies down.

It’s all peaceful again, at least for a moment. The one in the sac stands up, while the other lays down, minding his own business. The camera zooms out and we can see a third orangutan playing with twigs in their own little corner.

Perseverance!

Like a ghost clinging to an old and dingy house, the orangutan in the sac resumes his harassment even more diligently than before. Failed attempts are followed by more attempts.

He eventually succeeds at drawing his friend away and what follows is a comic wrestling match before the video ends. The playful sight is hysterical and reminds us of two siblings fighting among each other. One is the calm, rational one while the other wants as much attention as possible.
