Aww!
Male deer confused when his female interest breaks
He was NOT prepared for her to break and his reaction was priceless!

A lot of people use plastic animal decoys in their yards to either bring or deter other animals from visiting.

They’re like modern day scarecrows, but they work much better. If you place a fake owl or snake on your property, other birds will be less likely to come and visit. Scarecrows aren’t quite as effective and act as a convenient perch for some birds that are more brave of heart.

On the opposite end, deer and duck decoys are commonly used by hunters to attract more of the same species… which I personally do not condone.

But the decoys are also used by animal lovers who just want to observe some wildlife on their properties.

A family in Eldorado, Illinois had some decoys in their backyard and came across a strange scene. Fortunately they caught it on camera so they could share it with the rest of us.

A visitor buck got quite the shock after confusing the decoy for a real doe. It was the fall season, so naturally their animal instinct is to find a mate. And well… he tried.

But please be warned: this hilarious video comes with some somewhat graphic sexual animal activity.

The buck saunters up to the yard and finds a female deer who I guess looks pretty cute. Plastic dolls are always setting such unrealistic expectations for women!

He doesn’t even say a proper hello, he just checks her out and decides to go for it.

Apparently there’s no consent involved in the deer mating process. Or maybe he’s just a dick.

It’s off to a pretty weird start.

Surely the plastic deer doesn’t have the full anatomy of a real life doe, so it can’t be going very well for our enthusiastic buck. But he’s giving it his best.

He doesn’t even seem to be bothered that there’s an audience of both a wolf and a human. An exhibitionist deer.

The plastic wolf looks very distraught by what’s going on.

And then the poor buck gets a very unpleasant surprise.

The doe’s head just pops right off! Oh god, he’s killed her! He doesn’t know what to do.

He gets off and at first tries to walks away, but seeing as he has an audience he can’t very well just leave the scene of the crime.

He turns back and checks to see if there’s any signs of life. But the damage is done.

The anonymous family who provided the video captioned it perfectly:

“A nice buck was interested in our doe decoy around 11:30 a.m. He pursued her until her head popped off.”

That harrowing experience will probably stick with him for a while! Maybe it will teach him to get some verbal or physical confirmation from the next deer. Or at least extend his courting process long enough to make sure she’s, well, not plastic.
