These lionesses are forever grateful to the woman who saved them, and they made sure she knew it, too!

Many underestimate the capacity of emotions animals have. They feel and love just like we do. And a video posted on LADbible is proof.

The video shows a happy reunion between some lionesses and the woman who cared for them after they were saved from an unhealthy and unnatural life in a traveling circus and brought to Malkia Park: Big Cats Rescue.

Malkia Park is located in Slovakiaring and was opened in June 2016 with the mission of saving animals from circuses and inappropriate domestic breeding conditions and relocating them to an optimal living condition for them to live in.

They house all kinds of animals as well as aquatic animals. They also provide lodging and tours of their facilities with proceeds from their offerings going to fund their organization and mission.

You can tell that the staff really love and take special care of the animals at Malkia Park by the reaction of these two lionesses.

As soon as they both spot their caretaker on the other side of the fence they sprint toward her at top speed. Like giant babies the run up to her and wrap their arms around her giving her a giant cat hug.

They are both just beyond excited to see her and can’t stop hugging her head and showing her affection. They are literally just holding her and can’t stop pulling her close to them.

One of the lionesses playfully gnaws at her head and starts licking her face. You can hear them happily grunting too.

This would be an absolutely terrifying situation to an untrained individual but this lady clearly knows what she’s doing and these lionesses are not about to harm this woman. You can just tell that they l0ve her lots and lots and it is absolutely adorable.

“These big cats missed their mummy,” the caption of LADbible’s post read.

TIME Magazine says they can probably guess why these lionesses love to nuzzle.

“Female-to-male nuzzling may be a way of strengthening relationships; lions don’t have the luxury of cooking dinner for a stressed-out spouse, or giving them a massage and putting the kids to bed so the other can relax,” TIME reports. “Nuzzling, as a result, may not be a direct sign of affection, though our anthropomorphizing tendencies may long for this to be the case (because how cute would it be if lions, deep down, really were just like people?). But rather, the nuzzling may be a biological reflex used to establish an order of attachment that people cannot understand without using the word affection itself, and therefore perhaps confusing a matter of survival with a movement of the heart.”

I don’t know… after this video, I’m convinced that lions really are just like people.
