In a recent viral video released on YouTube, a man found a stray kitten on the street and decided to take her into his home. He named her Akula and welcomed her to the family.

There was just one problem — Choko, the family Rottweiler.

No one knew what Choko would think about the new member of the household.

“I found an abandoned kitten and decided to adopt her. This is the progress with Choko. I wonder who scares who?” the video description reads.

Everyone knows that cats and dogs don’t really get along.

They have a long history of being mortal enemies. However, try telling Akula that.

The newborn cat had no idea that kittens are supposed to be afraid of pups.

The first thing she did was run right up to Choko to say hello.

It was a bold strategy.

According to PAWS, it is always better to introduce new pets slowly. They recommend things like keeping the animals separate and swapping their sleeping blankets for a few days first so they have a chance to get accustomed to each other’s scents.

The face to face meeting should come later on. However, in this case, the two pets dove right into their meet and greet immediately.

At first, Choko actually seemed afraid of little Akula.

It’s the exact opposite of what anyone would expect. The dog jumped up and cautiously backed away from the tiny kitten.

Although, Akula was adamant that they meet and wouldn’t take no for an answer.

She was determined to become friends with the older dog and once again approached the big boy to try and greet him a second time.

Choko was more accepting of the kitten during round two.

However, he was clearly very curious about the new animal invading his territory. It was the first time that he had ever seen a member of the feline species up close and personal. Things definitely could have gone wrong, but luckily, Choko was very well-behaved during the whole encounter. Never once did he try and bite or attack the kitten.

However, he did gently nudge her away a few times with his nose.

He was busy relaxing in the kitchen and just wanted to be left alone.

By the end of the video though, the mood in the room totally changed.

After their introductions, Akula and Choko settled into their new situation. Once they realized that they were going to have to share a living space, they decided that they might as well be amicable with one another. Judging by the smiles on both of their faces after a few minutes, it wouldn’t even be a stretch to call them friends.

Sure, the dog was somewhat hesitant about the kitten at first.

However, Akula persisted to show love and eventually won the dog over, just like she did the humans in the household.

She was there to stay and she wasn’t about to let any old-fashioned superstitions about dogs and cats ruin her attitude. She gave the pup a chance and approached the situation without fear.

The strategy worked out pretty well for her this time and we can only hope that her future meetings go just as well. Here’s to wishing the new family members the best of luck as they continue learning about what it takes to live together in one home.
