Humans will do just about anything for their pets. They’ll spend hundreds or even thousands on them to outfit them in cute clothes, comfy beds, great toys, or pay for veterinarian bills to make to sure they are healthy and happy.

They’ll even risk looking completely ridiculous if it means that their pet will feel comfortable.

Some parents will even wear a cone for their pet if it means that their pet will feel better. That’s what Rengar’s dad did. He is a cat dad that went above an beyond for his cat.

Rengar is a 6-month-old kitty cat who has been with his dad for the majority of his life. These two were practically inseparable, so when Rengar wasn’t feeling so great that meant that his human wasn’t feeling so great either.

And being neutered made Rengar not feel so great.

Like most cats who get neutered, Regnar was forced to wear a cone, which some refer to as “the cone of shame” and is a piece of plastic wrapped around an animal’s neck to prevent that animal from licking or biting their incisions after surgery.

Regnar’s dad thought that Regnar would feel better if the two of them took a nap. However, Regnar was still feeling pretty bummed out and shameful because of his cone.

Regnar’s dad knew he had to do something to help his little furry friend feel better.

He didn’t want his little buddy to feel all alone, so he fashioned himself a cone of shame from some paper and staples and decided to wear it out of solidarity and so the cat wouldn’t feel so ashamed.

“Rengar was confused at first, then when he realized his dad was also wearing the ‘cone of shame,’ was more comfortable,” Regnar’s mom, Sarah Proctor told The Dodo.

Once Rengar realized that he wasn’t alone in his current cone-wearing reality he started to feel a little bit better.

The Dodo has deemed him as “The Best Cat Dad Ever.” We wouldn’t argue with that and Rengar probably wouldn’t either.

“Awwww, soooo sweet,” said one commenter on The Dodo’s Facebook page. “Real pet owners understand empathy and have a special bond between themselves and their pets. No one else can understand that.”

And that’s exactly why this cat dad made a fool of himself for little Regnar. He’d probably tell you that it was well worth it though.
