For those of us that own pets or have ever owned a pet, you know how special they are. We would do anything for them. We treat them, quite literally, like we would a human child. So, if you need to shelter them from the elements, you’ll do anything you can to make them feel comfortable. Like this man, for example.
An unknown man recently had his photo snapped while he was sheltering his dog from the rain – the sweet moment ended up going viral.
While out for a bike ride, the skies must have opened up and began to drench the duo. The man, thankfully, had an umbrella to protect himself from the downpour, but the dog was getting soaked! Pulling over, the man came up with an idea to keep his beloved pup warm and dry. Break out the rain poncho!
There just happened to be a shop nearby and the man pulled over and underneath the shop awning. Running inside, he purchases a standard rain poncho to wrap around his pooch.
Fitting the plastic poncho over his hound, he made sure to keep his snout outside for fresh air. The rest of him? Complete wrapped up in the poncho!
The cutest thing about these photos is that the dog doesn’t seem to mind one bit. He seems to understand that his owner is just trying to help him and keep him dry. What an adorable moment that was caught in photos.
Unsurprisingly, this isn’t the first time that an act like this was caught on camera.
Video footage was captured in Davao City, Philippines of another elderly man protecting his dog from the rain with a very similar technique! This time, the dog even got an adorable hat to wear. It’s impossible for it not to tug on your heartstrings.
”It happened last Saturday morning at about 10am. Me and my husband went to Agdao market in Davao city and I saw an old man with a bike and a dog standing beside him,” said Alice Nacion Tumbali, who captured the video below. “I was intrigued and my attention was with the Dog. I felt sorry for the dog due to the rain and to my surprise the old man carried his dog and put him on the carrier basket of his bike.
”Then I noticed the old man brought out a plastig bag and he used it to cover his dog as a rain coat so I was very curious and thats the time and I started recording. It was such amazing love and care.”
Onlookers said that the elderly man appeared to be poor but had no problem giving his resources to his furry best friend. It was yet another moment that shows the incredible bond between human and animal.
”I hope this video will serve as an example to all humans to sincerely love and care for their pets,” Alice said.
