We get curious when we see someone wearing a locket, especially when it’s our loved ones. Since a locket usually holds something that’s dear and important to the bearer, we couldn’t help but be curious about what it is.
Usually, it’s a picture of their loved ones or the person they most admired in life, but how could we know without actually seeing for ourselves?
Well, someone decided to open her step-grandma’s locket one day

American writer and editor Daisy Alioto found her step-grandmother’s vintage locket and decided to see what’s inside it. When she was trying to bust it open, she might have expected to see photos of her grandpa, her grandma’s favorite child, or even her grandchildren.

Of course, we would have thought so too, but apparently, Alioto’s grandma had far more important “family” in mind.
Her motivation came from a video she found on the internet.

Before she even started thinking about opening her grandma’s locket, she happened to watch a video from TikTok that motivated her to do it. In that video, there’s this grandma who was said to have something odd inside her locket.
People were swarming over to her, and when people asked her to open it up, they found out that it’s a picture of a monkey. Apparently, she had added that picture after people kept prying open her locket to look at the photo of her high school boyfriend inside.
“I decided, ‘Ok, ok, you wanna see something?'”the grandma from the video shared.
She’s not even mad when she found out what’s inside.
Alioto took her own sweet time trying to crack the heart-shaped locket open and even used a tool to do it. After some time, when she managed to bust it open, she finally got a glimpse of what’s inside – and guess what, it wasn’t what she thought it would be!
What she found inside was a picture of an adorable Golden retriever and a cat. She wasn’t even mad, she thought that it’s an unusually sweet discovery.
There’s no reason not to share such a wholesome moment.
“Just spent so long prying my step grandmother’s locket open and it was 100% worth it,” she wrote on her Twitter as she shared the photos she found on the locket.
The tweet exploded with more than half a million people hitting the like button. Soon, a lot of people shared their own experiences as well with the odd things they found on someone’s locket.
Some did have their pet’s photos on their lockets too but there’s one person who shared that she found Jack Nicholson’s “Here’s Johnny” scene from the 1980s horror/suspense film, The Shining. What are the chances?
Our pets are our family after all.
Getting a pet doesn’t mean having them just for fun. They could be your best friends or your family that will love you unconditionally. Hence, we should be treating them the way we treat our loved ones.
In this case, Alioto’s step-grandma’s choices on who to put on her locket were right. Besides, pets are a thousand times better than anyone.
Kidding aside, it’s just sweet how she wanted to keep the memory of her beloved pets. Surely, it doesn’t need showing or saying how much she loves her own family, it’s just that she wanted everyone to know that her beloved pets are in it too.
