Sure, working out is good for you. But is it good for your Golden Retriever? Bailey isn’t so sure.
In fact, watching her dad work out seems to upset Bailey, possibly because it means he can’t pay attention to the pup.
What’s a dog to do?
Become a workout “partner,” of sorts. But instead of being an accountability buddy, Bailey is more of a speed bump on the road to fitness.
Bailey’s dad has devoted an entire YouTube channel to the dog’s antics.
In this case, he’s doing pull-ups on his personal home gym, but Bailey finds it very boring. That’s because the dog can’t really interrupt that activity.
Once he finishes a set, he grabs his mat and stretches it out on the floor for a different set of exercises. Not we’re talkin’!
Maybe some sit-ups, push-ups, or burpees? Not so fast, buddy.
See, this doggo wants to be the fitness coach too. She sees the mat being set up and already she’s on it before her human is. He’s trying to position himself but she won’t let him. No way.
That is the fluffiest bicep curl we’ve ever seen.
But Bailey is as quick as lightning and is back on the mat again.
Next, Bailey starts jumping around in circles, and whether that’s her workout or she’s just being playful is entirely up to you.
He finally spots enough space and positions himself for a push-up.
Alas, Bailey sees the space too and dives beneath her human dad.
Bailey has other ideas and plops down belly up.
This is a core workout with bonus belly rubs.
Bailey’s dad is beside himself. His focus is gone and he is just laughing now at his dog’s crazy antics. Focus, Bailey!
Dad picks her up again and positions her gently on the couch. He doesn’t realize it but that’s a full-body workout already. Get those protein shakes ready!
Bailey seems to get it and stays put for a few moments…
Her dad finally gets into a plank position and just when he’s about to begin… Dog alert! Bailey jumps down, encircles him, jumps over, and dives once more beneath her dad.
Eventually, dad gives up and just allows Bailey to have her way.
He assumes the plank and holds it for that extra strong core. Bailey being the good fitness partner she is then decides to use her own weight as added resistance and help her dad burn more calories.
What a good partner she is!
Dad gets to finish his workout and even lets Bailey have her fun as she starts to run around and play again. That’s her burning calories alright!
Pets can be frustrating sometimes, but this was just downright funny, and it brightened a lot of days.
