While some may consider work not very exciting or fun, this career application posted by an Irish veterinary clinic certainly proves that dream jobs absolutely exist.
The Just Cats Veterinary Clinic in Clonsilla, Dublin is looking for a full-time worker, and their job description is quite simple.
The clinic is looking for someone to cuddle cats to help relieve their stress.
“Are you a crazy cat person and loves cats?
Does cattitude come naturally to you?
Have you counted kittens before you go asleep?
Do you feed the stray cats in your locality?
Does petting cats make you feel warm and fuzzy?
If you answer yes to some or all of these questions, how about working with cats as a full-time job at Just Cats Veterinary Clinic?”
If that doesn’t scream dream job, we’re not sure what does. As you might expect, there are some small letters: you need to live in Ireland or must be willing to relocate there, and you do need to have a Veterinary Council qualification from Ireland.
In humorous fashion, the veterinary clinic details its “cats only” policy by “discriminating against dogs” as patients. In other words, the lucky job applicant winner will be surrounded with just cats all the time which sounds perfect if you’re really a cat person.

The job description doesn’t mention any types of medical qualifications and states that they’re simply looking for someone to give them some unconditional love, as some of the cats they treat tend to be nervous a lot of the time. As we all know, some hugs and kisses can certainly go a long way. They feline clinic also holds the prestigious Gold Standard Award for Ireland’s Cat-Friendly Clinic program.
“The ideal candidate must have gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time.
They need to be softly spoke and capable of cat whispering to calm the nerves of some of our in patients.
An ability to understand different types of purring is a distinct added advantage in helping you secure this position with us.”
