African grey parrots are known for their uncanny ability to mimic human speech and understand hundreds of words and phrases.

These amazing birds can even pick up dialect and accents, like Onion the African grey parrot who hails from Scotland.

And she’s hilarious.

Onion and her fellow grey-feathered buddies are wildly popular winged pets. People around the world own them because they’re so comical and amiable.

With her own Instagram account, Onion has a legion of followers who love to see what antics she’s been up to.

She loves looking out the window and gawking at what’s happening outdoors.

Messing with mum is her favorite

Onion also loves antagonizing her human mum with such craziness as clamping down on the arm of her glasses with her beak and yanking them off her face.

She even pecks and pulls at the curtains just to drive her bonkers.

In a hilarious YouTube video compilation, Onion channels her inner stand-up comedy shtick that has every viewer cracking up.

Her one-liners are hilarious and the fact that she speaks full sentences, bosses her humans around, and is able to sound exactly like a shrill ringing phone and the back-up warning beeper on a work truck is simply astounding.

She’s also a great conversationalist.

When the 21-year-old bird’s owner asked her if she has a “fat bum,” she replied “Aye! Woo!”

Onion’s repertoire includes “Helloooo,” “Ho’re you?” “Hiya baby,” “Hello baby,” “Kiss” and “Mwah!” She also has a wee bit of a potty mouth.

“I am friggin’ cold. Go shut the windows, hen.”

Other phrases she chirps out include “Shut up,” “Cheeky b*stard,” “Kiss ya toes,” “See ya in the morning,” “Okay bye,” “See ya later,” and Cheerio!”

She’s been busted bellowing at the family’s pet ferret and when the cat came perilously close to her cage, she shouts “Nonononono” at the cat and it scampers off.

Onion does have manners

She can say “thank you.” But she also can burp, and rather loudly at that.

It’s quite funny when Onion mimics an entire conversation her owner had on the phone and shouts “See ya later! Toodaloo!”

Many viewers commented on Onion’s heavy Scottish accent and how she cracked them up.

She has a massive following.

Owner Cody Stoddart’s TikToks with Onion have garnered thousands of views and countless comments.

Cody shared with the Daily Record that she brought Onion home when she was three months old.

She sparked a firestorm on social media with more than 181,000 followers today.

“I don’t think many people have heard a parrot with an accent so I’m guessing that’s why her videos have went a bit crazy. Everyone says she sounds like an old granny or Mrs. Doubtfire but it’s genuinely my mum she copies since she sits with her all day while I’m at work.”

Out of all the videos Cody has posted, she does have a few at the top of her list.

“My favorites are probably when she’s telling the cat off or when I hear her asking ‘Where’s Cody?’ I can’t think of anything she won’t say. She mostly just picks things up from listening to everyone talk and have conversations.”
