Sometimes when our kids go outside to play they come home with a new friend asking if they could stay for dinner or a sleepover.

But Claudia Wright never expected that this would happen with one of her pets.

Wright adopted her cat Posey four years ago after the cat, who was just about a kitten herself at the time, appeared on her doorstep along with her three kittens.

Wright helped raise the kittens and ended up finding families for all of them once they were old enough. Wright decided to keep Posey as her own cat.

But once an outdoor cat, always an outdoor cat. One day when Posey came back from one of her outdoor adventures that lasted several hours and brought a little friend home with her.

Posey presented her mom with a teeny tiny 7-week-old kitten that Wright named Meesy.

Apparently, Posey’s motherly instincts kicked in when she spotted the baby in distress and new she had to help it.

“I guess she must have missed having a baby around and found one,” Wright told The Dodo.

Wright had never seen this kitten before so she decided she would ask around the town to make sure that the kitten wasn’t lost and didn’t belong to anyone.

“The kitten has never been seen around the neighborhood,” Wright explains. “I already verified the kitten isn’t anyone else’s. Meesy must have gotten separated from her mother and she and Posey may have just come across each other.”

So, Wright decided to take Meesy in rather than let the little baby back into the streets all alone. She had to care for Meesy like a newborn baby and bottle-fed the kitten and made sure she was constantly being snuggled by either Wright or Posey.

Posey absolutely fell in love with her new kitten Meesy and it wasn’t long before Wright did as well.

Wright decided to adopt Meesy as her own, but in reality, Posey had already decided on it the day she laid eyes on the baby kitty. This adoption was a random accident that made everyone involved very happy.

“They love each other,” Wright said. “They’ve completely adopted each other.”

Were so happy to see that this little kitty wasn’t left on the streets to fend for her self and fate led her to a new cat and human mom who will love her forever.
