Three newborn kittens were found in a box that was left inside an abandoned building. Luckily, some kind rescuers who happened to be there took all the kittens home and took care of them.
There are many reasons why these cats might have ended up all alone in this building.
A person might dumped their pregnant cat’s litter because that person felt they already had too many cats at home. Although it is one of the most heartless approaches to getting rid of pets, sadly, this happens all too frequently.
Another reason is plenty of stray pregnant cats give birth to their litter in some dark and isolated place to protect them from potential predators. There are also times where kittens are left motherless because something unfortunate happened to their mom while looking for food. Or in rare circumstances, the mother just abandons her young. Unless the kittens are all big enough to take care of themselves, they have a low chance of surviving on their own.
These cat-lovers happen to find a bunch of newborn kittens left in a box.
Three newborn kittens were found nestled inside on the second floor of the abandoned building by a group of children. Even in broad daylight, entering an empty building with a lot of scattered debris is scary. However, the children were brave enough to lead the rescuers to the site where they found the kittens.
The kittens were in such a pitiful state. They still couldn’t open their eyes as they were born just a few days before. Their fur was dirty, and it looked like there was no mother cat in sight. The rescuers extracted the kittens and brought them with them to their house.
The rescuers tried their best to nurse the kittens themselves but it was just hard without the actual mother.
After going home from the trip, the rescuers immediately fed them with milk from a syringe and gave them a small bath. They even made the kittens a makeshift incubator using a bunch of plastic bottles with warm water, covered with diapers and cloth.
However, a storm came, causing a power outage in their area. The rescuers were not able to warm the kittens properly during the cold storm and they decided to put them in another mother cat’s crate the next day.
The mother cat took just a few sniffs to know those kittens needed help. Even though she was taking care of some kittens of her own, she gladly welcomed the helpless kittens to warm up underneath her fur. Unfortunately, two kittens died despite all the rescuers’ efforts.
Luckily, the last kitten survived and was living happily with her new mom.
The mother cat nursed the small little kitten along with her other older kittens. The older kittens were also kind and welcoming to the new member of their family too.
It was unfortunate that some of the kittens could not make it, but it’s also a success for the rescuers to have one survive. Hopefully, the small kitten was given a loving home where he/she could spend her feline years healthily and happily.
