Animals share a connection that goes beyond any human language.

The wild world of animals is definitely an interesting one. There’s no telling what you’ll get when you see two furry creatures greet each other for the first time.

The first welcoming sniffs usually indicate if one is friendly or foe and the animal knows right away if they should keep their distance. It’s truly a very fascinating sight to behold.

Sometimes the unlikeliest of friendships form when you least expect it.

Lulu the cat was rescued from a hoarding predicament and sent to Orphans of the Storm.

The animal shelter organization was quick to relocate her to a foster home, where Lulu began taking her time to form a bond with her new family.

“She is very shy and gets scared easily,” Said Lulu’s foster mom, Jennifer Burke. “So we are taking our time with her to properly socialize her and show her that humans can be kind and loving … With time, she has learned to really enjoy being pet and brushed. She even likes her belly to be rubbed! She is incredibly sweet and it has been such fun to see her start to blossom.”

On her arrival, Lulu began settling into her space as much as she could.

She even shared a room with her foster brother, Felix.

Despite the two getting along phenomenally, Felix was relocated to his new family and soon Lulu would have to face being alone again.

Her caretaker, Burke, was worried that Lulu was going to suffer mental stress from the separation. However, a new relationship would form that was truly unexpected.

After about a month of nestling into her foster care, Lulu got a visit from a local deer that began showing up out of nowhere in the family’s yard.

Deer are no strangers to the area, but few ever linger for more than a few minutes.

The deer showed up so frequently, in fact, that the family thought it would be a good idea to name her Dolly since she’s built an attachment towards the family and even Lulu.

That’s right! Lulu and Dolly somehow became best buds after a few times watching each other from behind the windowpane.

“I noticed Dolly outside and realized she was within view of our foster room, which is in our basement,” Burke said. “So, I ran downstairs to see if Lulu was looking out the window. We have a cat tree placed in front of the window and Lulu was on the top perch watching Dolly. And Dolly was watching Lulu!”

It was a bit odd seeing this interaction happen in the first place.

After a couple of times seeing each other, the two became more and more comfortable and it seemed like they would hold daily meet and greets around the same time.

The sweet pair became so adorably cute together that it was no wonder this story has stolen the hearts of so many animal lovers from across the globe!

“Lulu was very curious about Dolly,” Burke said. “She didn’t seem scared at all. Initially, Dolly would watch Lulu from a distance. But it didn’t take long for Dolly to come right up to the window and chew on the branches next to the house. Lulu was a bit hesitant the first time Dolly came up so close. But, now, it doesn’t faze her one bit. She has even fallen asleep on the perch while Dolly is at the window.”

Dolly is a frequent visitor of the family’s residence. She stops by every so often to check on her feline friend to see how she’s doing.

The other cats seem to be a bit timid about Dolly, but not Lulu.

She’ll happily get closer to the window to glance at Dolly whenever she gets the chance.

Lulu is still on the search for her forever home.

Her family will miss her when it’s time, and there’s no doubt that Dolly will also be missing her when she goes. Wherever that may be, let’s hope there’s deer around to give her some warm company!
