There are many myths surrounding cats and babies. Most of them are completely false, but still, they can make some new parents worry. Will the kitty sneak into the room and suffocate the baby? Will the cat be patient with the child’s love and hugs? If your cat is anything like Larry, then you have nothing to worry about.
Larry is a mischievous little kitty who was adopted into a loving furever home.
In a blog, his mom explains, “I had always wanted an orange cat so when a friend’s vet needed to get rid of 2-year-old Larry for breaking into their food supply cabinet, I didn’t hesitate to adopt him. “
Larry’s mom was completely thrilled with the ginger kitty. They lived together happily for a few years until Larry got the news that he would be getting a little brother. The sweet orange kitty was completely over the moon!
“When I became pregnant a few years later, Larry laid on my belly constantly,” his mom writes. “From the minute Abel came home Larry was in love.”
Larry’s brother Abel, for his part, was smitten too. “Abel’s first smiles and giggles were often due to Larry,” Mom recalled. “At 9 months, Abel’s first word was ‘Yarry”.
From the moment the two laid eyes on each other, Larry and Abel have had a special bond. The two do everything together, and Larry is always nearby to protect his little bud.
“When Abel cries, Larry runs over to comfort him. Abel makes sure Larry is with him when he moves from one room to another.”
“Larry tolerates more than I’d ever imaged a cat could or would tolerate. We have another cat named Marty who is a sweet cat but not in love with Able. He keeps a safe distance!”
It doesn’t matter what little Abel does, Larry is always by his side. The two support and comfort each other, and nothing will ever pull them apart.
More recently, Abel and Larry’s mom gave birth to another baby! Now the two boys are big brothers to a sweet little girl. “Larry loves her dearly,” his mom revealed.
Leo loves his little brother and supports him with all of his heart. No matter how big Abel grows, the little boy never has to worry— because Leo will protect him for life.
