Tip #1 – Litter train your pet

Puppies and kittens can be playful and messy, and that’s okay. This is actually a good opportunity for you to start litter training them.

It can be challenging at first, but just be patient with them.

Tip # 2 – If you see a stain – clean it ASAP!

Now, even if your pet is trained, sometimes, accidents happen.

When it does, make sure that you clean it as soon as possible. If you let it sit too long, you will have a hard time removing the stain and the smell.

Tip # 6 – Be careful when you are using Hydrogen Peroxide

Tip # 7 – Allow your pets to play in your yard

Consider yourself lucky if you live in a house with a yard.

You can allow your pets to play outside, thus minimizing the chance of stains in your home. Oh, it is also a great way to burn all their energy without worrying about broken vases.

Tip # 9 – Never use cleaning agents with ammonia for cat urine

If you are dealing with cat urine, make sure not to choose cleaning detergents with ammonia.

Why is this so?

Ammonia has a strong smell that can actually attract your cat into thinking that it’s their spot. They might end up urinating in the same place.

Tip # 10 – It’s not advisable to use steam cleaners for urine stains

Steam cleaners are handy, and they work too, but not all the time.

It’s not advisable to use them if you are cleaning urine spots.

The reason is that steam cleaners, as the name suggests, will produce extreme heat, which can tie the protein present in your pet’s urine to the fibers of your carpet – making it worse.
