Matheus and Marília Pieroni had it all planned out. They would have a gorgeous outdoor wedding in São Paulo, Brazil and become a family of two.

What they hadn’t counted on was a storm ruining their plans for an outdoor wedding.

They also didn’t plan on becoming a family of three after a dog crashed their wedding.

The rain forced the wedding to be performed under a tent. In addition to all of their family and friends seeking shelter under the tent, so was a muddy pawed pup.

The wedding staff tried to get the dog to leave and the groomsmen even carried him outside. However, the dog was determined to have his bridal moment.

The bridal march was queued to play and weddings guests were shocked to find that it wasn’t the bride who came down the aisle when it sounded.

“As the ceremony started, to everyone’s surprise, it was the dog who came in when the bridal chorus began to play,” Marília told The Dodo.

So, once again, guests brought the dog back outside and the bride had her ceremonial walk down the aisle. But this wasn’t the last they would see of the dog.

The couple was reading their vows when someone else decided they would say “I Do” to becoming a part of their family as well.

“The dog entered and laid down to sleep on my veil,” Marília explained. “It was a very pleasant surprise for me, because I love animals. I liked it very much.”

Since the dog was so adamant about being apart of the wedding, the bride and groom decided that he could stay for the rest of the ceremony and even the reception.

However, the dog had disappeared back at some point during the evening. But the couple had already fallen in love with their new friend and were determined to adopt him.

“We adopted the dog because we love animals,” Marilia told 1010 WINS. “When we knew that he lived in the streets, we could not think of anything other than to give a home full of love and affection for him.”

It took them a while to track the pup down but they finally found him and named him Snoop.

“He came home, and I showered him,” Marília told The Dodo. “He played a lot, ate, drank water. He is very happy and slept super good the first night.”

She says they are all a very happy family of three now.
